Team Van Oord is a Joint Venture partnership between Van Oord, Kier Group, Mackley and Royal HaskoningDHV who between them have a combined turnover in excess of £5bn. We’ve been working together formally in the JV since 2006, but informally since 1996.

Team Van Oord comprises expert partners with a long and successful history of working together. We are a dynamic and integrated business focusing on achieving unrivalled service in delivering multi-discipline flood and coastal defence projects across the UK.

The three original partners came together to work on behalf of the Environment Agency in 1996. Initially we were involved in the construction of offshore reefs, but in 1999 our involvement was expanded to include emergency works and beach nourishment. We were awarded a further tranche of coastal protection work in 2002/3.

We formally created the Team Van Oord JV in 2006, when we were appointed to the Environment Agency’s National Contractors Framework 2 (NCF2) which covers the period 2006-13.

Our work with the Environment Agency has proved very successful; the combined strengths of Team Van Oord have ensured regular, improved performance measured against the EA’s key performance indicators (KPIs).

To date all of our work has been for the Environment Agency - however, many other organisations – including local authorities – have an interest in, and responsibility for, flood and coastal defence and the protection and enhancement of the UK’s waterways network. And we are keen to offer the experience, skills and expertise that we possess to these organisations.

All four JV partners have an aligned culture, quality system and approach to provide a committed end-to-end design and construction capability to our clients. In our experience, the key to such a successful partnership lies in ensuring that we always assemble the best team, are fully integrated with our supply chain and have a clear focus on achieving the same objectives.

Our statement of "Start Strong, Stay Safe, One Team" underpins our work ethic.
